Reverse Diabetes2 Now™ is a structured, multidisciplinary lifestyle intervention programme designed for people with pre-diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes. The programme aims to improve blood glucose control, safely reduce diabetes medication where clinically appropriate, and improve metabolic health and quality of life.

The programme focuses on four lifestyle pillars:

  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Relaxation
  • Sleep

These are delivered alongside structured behavioural change support.

2. Who is the programme suitable for?

The programme is suitable for:

  • People with pre-diabetes
  • People with Type 2 Diabetes
  • Individuals on metformin only
  • Individuals on multiple diabetes medications or insulin

A medical screening determines eligibility and whether the participant joins the Low Complex or High Complex pathway.

3. What does “diabetes reversal” mean?

Diabetes reversal refers to achieving improved or normalised HbA1c levels together with reduced or discontinued diabetes medication, under professional medical supervision.

Results vary based on:

  • Duration of diabetes
  • Medication use
  • Individual adherence

B. PROGRAMME DELIVERY & FORMAT

4. Who are the professionals involved in the programme?

The programme is delivered by a dedicated multidisciplinary team:

  • Programme Coordinator – Primary contact; oversees logistics, organisation, and communication
  • Dietitian – Explains metabolic dysfunction and Type 2 Diabetes; supports dietary and behaviour change
  • Nurse / GP – Oversees glucose monitoring, medication adjustment, and medical safety
  • Life Coach – Supports goal setting, self-awareness, motivation, and coping with setbacks
5. How is the programme delivered?

The programme uses a blended delivery model:

  • In-person programme days
  • Online live workshops
  • Group coaching sessions
  • Online community platform
  • Aftercare support, including webinars, Q&A sessions, and refresher talks

C. CLIENT PROGRAMME PATHWAYS

6. What is the Low Complex (Online) Programme?

The Low Complex programme is designed for participants with pre-diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes who are using metformin only.

Programme structure (6 months):

  • Day 1: Full-day in-person start
  • Days 2–12: Online sessions (1.4–2 hours each)

Medical supervision focuses on lifestyle change and glucose monitoring rather than intensive medication reduction.

7. What is the High Complex (In-person + Online) Programme?

The High Complex programme is for participants using multiple diabetes medications or insulin and requires intensive medical supervision.

Programme structure:

  • Day 1–2: In-person residential start (overnight stay)
  • Day 3: 1-month in-person review
  • Day 4: 3-month in-person review
  • Day 5: 4.5-month online session (3–4 hours)
  • Day 6: 6-month in-person follow-up

Medication reduction is conducted safely by experienced nurses in collaboration with the participant’s physician.

8. Is medication always reduced?

No. Medication adjustment depends on individual response, biometric data, and medical safety.

Any reductions are:

  • Data-driven (blood glucose, HbA1c, weight, waist circumference)
  • Supervised by healthcare professionals
  • Coordinated with the participant’s lead doctor

D. RESULTS & HONG KONG PILOT FINDINGS

9. What were the results of the Hong Kong pilot study?

Hong Kong pilot results (N = 21) showed:

  • Visible reduction in medication dose or class
  • Clinical improvement in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c)
  • Significant reductions in triglycerides, weight, BMI, waist circumference, and perceived fatigue
  • Partial Type 2 Diabetes reversal: 33.3%
  • Full Type 2 Diabetes reversal: 46.7%

Additional findings:

  • Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) increased
  • No significant change in High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) or total cholesterol
  • No adverse liver findings
  • Improved dietary adherence and social-life satisfaction
